The recommended supplies is to use oils, since van Gogh painted with oils. However, this course can be done with acrylics as well. If you have questions about what to bring for acrylics, please let me know.
- Oil paints: minimally red, yellow, blue, black, and white, click here for a set.
- 4 11x14" Primed, stretched canvas
- You can use smaller or larger canvas, the instructor will demo on 11x14". You may appreciate having more canvases, in case you finish early.
- Easel (table easel or standing easel)
- Sturdy support board, if painting on unstretched canvas
- Clips, if painting on unstretched canvas to secure canvas to support board
- 2 small airtight glass or metal jars for solvents
- Linseed oil
- Turpentine
- Palette knife
- Variety of shapes and sizes of bristle paint brushes
- Palette paper
- Paper towels
- Charcoal or pencil for sketching
- Gloves in your size
- Apron
- Optional supplies: Masterson airtight palette holder (New Masteron palettes come with 5 sheets of palette paper)
