With the dream to study art abroad in an internationally competitive program, Sharon, who currently lives in Nairobi, Kenya, joined the Premier Portfolio Program to develop her portfolio. This year-long program with its online format and accelerated method of training allowed her to rapidly improve her drawing skills, learn painting, build her abilities to a competitive level, as well as gain confidence in contemporary and classic techniques to meet US college requirements. While the 9-hour time difference made it challenging, Sharon took advantage of class recordings to make it work. She built a one-of-a-kind, highly personalized portfolio with most pieces created from family photographs or direct observation.
