This is a new approach to figurative work that will help you produce a unique piece of art. One artwork will take you four weeks to complete. The instructor will guide you through the process step by step as you build an entire likeness of a live model. You will start with painting the head on a small sheet of paper and gradually add other body parts one by one, gluing more paper and expanding your substrate as you go. You will work from observation, however, the only typical part of the process will be painting with your paints and brushes; the rest of the sequence will be out of the ordinary. If you are looking to develop your creativity you will acquire a novel strategy for your art-making that will allow you to easily scale the human form to any size, including lifesize and up.

Appropriate for intermediate to advanced levels; Essential Drawing Course’ graduates welcome.

This project will benefit all creatives: animators, illustrators, fine artists, logotype designers, architects, portfolio students, stage designers, cartoonists, photographers, stage decorators, tattoo artists, textile artists, costume / fashion designers.
